P-Day update week 37, 10/31/2022

 ¡Hola a todos!

This week has been really good! Not a whole lot of exciting things, just working hard and seeing fruits from our labors! I got sick about halfway through the day yesterday, and rested a lot so I didn't have time to start my email, so I really don't have time to write a long email, but I'll make sure it's sweet!

Originally a tourist costume, but it quickly changed into a Mexican farmer!

So like I mentioned, I have a new companion, he is from Sinaloa and my first Mexican companion! I'm a third of the way through my mission and I haven't had a Mexican companion until now! It's great, but he also speaks English so it's not that different haha! He is such a good kid, he's still in his training, which makes me his mom, but he is an amazing missionary! He has come in with a true desire to serve the Lord and do his will, and he knows how to teach, there isn't much I can teach him, but I'm still gonna give it all I've
 got! In fact, I feel like I'm learning a lot from him, especially when it comes to Spanish, he (obviously) speaks perfect Spanish hahah! And I've been trying to soak up as much as I can from him! I'm really excited to see what we'll do together in these next couple weeks!

Something I've found that happens a lot here in Xalapa, is that I always find myself running out of money, like right after I get it in my account! The big culprits are taxis, they are always so expensive and we always have to use them since we're always running behind schedule. But this past week we literally almost had no money, so we had to use a different from a transport. Walking! We've been walking so much, probably the most walking i've done in my entire mission! Because our area is so huge we've also had to walk pretty quick to get to where we're going on time! It's honestly been pretty nice, I feel like I'm getting great exercise, and when we come home for the night, I feel like I did something! But sometimes it hasn't been that great. Because we have no money, when we have to take a taxi, we have to negotiate him down to a price we can actually afford! Sometimes it's fun, and sometimes I just feel like a bad guy trying to get this taxi driver to charge me basically 2 USD to take me like 5 KM! But I guess there isn't too much we can do, at least until we get more funds haha!

This last month of October has been really good for us on the ad side of our assignment! We did an as about family history work, and it did really good! At the end of the month we finished off with a cool 115 references! That is crazy good! The best month we've had since I've been here is 65, so this last month really hit it out of the park! But because it did so well, no there is a little more pressure to have our next ad be just as good! But I don't think that'll be too much of a problem!

This week was the baptism of one of our friends! We'll call him George! We've been working with George for just a little under a month now, and he decided on Friday that he wanted to be baptized! It was a rush to get everything sorted out, and even the day of the baptism things didn't go perfectly, but it was a nice service nonetheless!

Due to the season, last Saturday we had a day of the dead activity at the church, it was super cool and a lot of fun! We also had some friends who were able to attend as well so that was cool! They talked a lot about the importance of going to the temple and doing the sacred ordinances for the dead so that they can pass over to paradise! it was a really touching production, and it made me really want to go to the temple! But I can't right now, so I'll just have to wait another 15.5 months haha!!

That's all the time I have today, sorry for the short email! Next week we'll be getting back on to our regularly scheduled programming! Hola a todos! Espero que hayan disfrutado mucho su semana y que hayan disfrutado mis correos!! Well well well, I don't know when this happened but we got to my last email. These past few weeks have been a little bit of the same but there are some cool experiences I wanted to share with y'all!! Amairany's baptism! First we finally finished all the house inspections in the mission! After three weeks and many many hours of traveling we visited the 68 different houses in the mission and made sure that everyone was living in good conditions and properly cleaning their home! We saw some really cool quite clean houses, and some very not cool very dirty houses, it was definitely an experience!! P-Day update week 104, 105 y 106, 02/26/2024

-Miracles (Doña pili, Francisca, y Elio fam) Muy buenas tardes a todos ustedes! Espero que hayan tenido unas semanas excelentes!! I know I haven't written an email in a couple weeks, but really there wasn't too much to talk about the last two weeks! We've been super busy running around doing a lot of administrative stuff, but this last week we had some really cool experiences!!! MTZ/TEZ Zone Conference! To start off, there us one thing I should mention that happened a few weeks ago, like you all know every month we have a MLC. We usually do one month in person here in Xalapa and one month on Zoom, this month it was on Zoom! We had been thinking a lot about what we wanted to do in the meeting, and we came up with a few different ideas! We talked a lot about how revelation works, specifically what our stewardship is. P-Day update week 21, 07/11/2022

It's been a week! Not necessarily a great week, but a week nonetheless! Not too much happened so it'll probably be a shorter letter this time. Before anything, I'll let you guys know that I was once again sick this week. This whole week I've been wrestling with a nasty cough and just really bad cold-like symptoms. One day I called the medical coordinator of the mission who is also the President's wife and asked for some advice. She told me it might just be allergies and prescribed me Benadryl at night. Unfortunately it didn't really work. So I just decided to hang on for a few days. This morning I woke up and I couldn't smell :// I went to the pharmacy with Elder Mendoza and we bought a Covid test, we also had an extra test result block thing. We headed home and I took the test. Oh, he got me! That's right folks I have COVID! So that's why I felt like death this week. That means I'm just going to have more time to study this coming week!  Positiv...
