P-Day update week 2, 02/26/2022
Hello everyone!
It has been a great week, time felt like it just flew right by, if my entire mission is like this I'll probably be done with it in about a month haha. But seriously this week has been filled with some of the best experiences I've ever had, I'll hit on the highpoints for y'all.
The coolest part about this week, was just the extent to which I felt the Holy Ghost, I've been having what feels like ten spiritual experiences everyday. Whenever I get into class I can just feel the spirit emanating off of all my district members, and our teachers, it really is almost indescribable. And that feeling hasn't seemed to want, or be able to go away. And because of my newly found sensitivity to the Holy Ghost I feel like I've been learning much more than I did last week, which I thought was impossible! We've been talking so much about teaching abilities and my comfort level has really gone up, in fact I find myself wanting to teach the gospel to everybody I see.
And because it was our second week, there were new missionaries that came in, so we could proudly say we weren't the most inexperienced missionaries in the Missionary Training Center! It sometimes doesn't feel that way though, since we are all supposed to teach the gospel in Spanish, but we haven't had a single Spanish class yet (besides the two I had when I was by myself my first day) , so I think once we get that down then we can have ourselves some more confidence.
Elder Jackson and I also had the opportunity to teach another lesson to the man we taught last week, we'll call him Jerry. It was such a delight to teach Jerry last week and I was very excited to teach him again this week, as we prepared to teach him we decided we wanted to talk to him about The Restoration of The Gospel of Jesus Christ, or really what was left of it that we didn't cover last week. It was a powerful lesson, as we made our way through we made sure to ask questions and keep him engaged, we forgot to do a few things we planned for but we were able to make it a great lesson anyway. This was my first opportunity to share The First Vision in a 'real' lesson, I could feel the power of God as I shared that message, and I later learned that he did too! We probably wont be able to meet with Jerry again since we're going to the Mexico MTC (CCM) on Tuesday, so we just implored him to keep searching for the truth wherever he could find it.
As I said, our district is finally actually going to Mexico this coming week! But that also means we had to say goodbye to our online MTC teachers, They were absolutely wonderful, I couldn't have asked for better teachers or better friends than I had in them. Because of this, our last day was filled with activities that let us share our feelings for one another and for Heavenly Father as we prepared to go our separate ways, It was an absolute mess, everyone was crying by the end of it and it was truly sad to no longer see my teachers every day! But the things they taught me are invaluable, so really I will always remember them :).
But there is a brightside to us leaving our online MTC experience, I get to meet my district in person on Tuesday! We have grown so close over the past couple weeks and I cannot wait to see their smiling faces, not through a computer screen! These district members have taught me a lot, and are truly the elect of God!
As with last week I want to testify to you all the wonderful peace that can be found in Christ, do not be afraid to turn to the Lord and ask him "what lack I yet?" as you do he will help you become the person he has always known you can be, take care of yourselves and I will see you next week!
P.S. Here are some pictures of the whole district 5-A with our teachers. We have also given ourselves the nickname of "Hawaii 5-A" you know...puns.
