P-Day update week 1, 02/19/2022
¡Hola a todos!
My first week in online MTC is officially in the books! It has been a stressful yet very peace filled week (if that makes any sense). So I'll just talk about some of the coolest things that happened this week and introduce some of the people that have been along with me.
The Biggest thing is just how much I've been learning in the MTC, to be honest I was a tiny bit apprehensive about this whole online MTC thing, but I can say for sure that it is amazing! They keep us very busy and time really flies, but I'm learning a lot. At the beginning of the week I started off in my own district (yes I mean it was just me) and my first two classes were very much focused on Spanish, we talked about the rules of the online MTC and what to expect over the coming weeks, then dove right into getting to know you activities in Spanish! It was just a little frightening but I got through it!
I learned in my first classes on Monday that they had me in the system for 6 weeks of online MTC, even though I was supposed to be down for 2 weeks online and 4 weeks in person. After emailing some people and getting everything straightened out they notified me that I would be joining a new district on Tuesday. I was excited to be in a district that goes to the MTC in person, but also a little sad that I would have to leave my teachers (they laughed at all my jokes, That's hard to give up). But I found that I loved my new district, even if I wasn't District Leader by default like my last one hahaha.
I have been learning so much about the gospel and how to share it that I feel like my head could very well explode at any minute! I have come to become great friends with all of my district members and both of my teachers, I believe they will all continue to teach me a lot about being a missionary and a follower of Jesus Christ! My current Companion is Elder Jackson, he is very cool and has a wonderful testimony, I cannot wait to get to learn from him and his example in the coming weeks.
Elder Jackson and I actually had the opportunity to teach a lesson! We signed up for this helping others assignment where you teach a lesson to a person who is acting as a friend (we don't call them investigators anymore). We learned a little bit about him and some of his questions on Wednesday and used our companionship study time to prepare a lesson for him on Thursday night. I know that it was just acting but we really tried to prepare a meaningful lesson for him. We taught him about God and how he is our loving heavenly father, since his desire was to learn about the presence he feels and doesn't quite know what it is, Spoiler: it is our heavenly father. I think we did very well, I felt the spirit quite strongly and I think that Elder Jackson and I did a wonderful job!
Those are kind of the highlights, but I wanted to end with my testimony that this is God's work and he truly blesses those who give their time and talents to accomplishing his goals, I hope I can help at least a little bit with that! But anyway, I love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!
Here is my district in all our online glory!!
I’ve got a lot of catching up to do! I just barely got the link to your blog and you’ve already submitted 3 posts during the past 3 weeks or so! Fun fun fun!!
